IRS Grants Extension to Businesses Affected by Winter Storm
Businesses affected by a severe winter storm (known as Winter Storm Stella), have additional time to request a six-month extension to file their 2016 federal income tax returns. The IRS has provided this relief to victims and tax professionals affected by the winter storm that hit portions of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Affected businesses who were unable to file their tax return by March 15, 2017, can request an automatic extension by filing Form 7004 on or before March 20, 2017. More information may be found on the IRS website here. If you have any questions about the extension and how this may effect you, please contact us today!
